Our Amethyst Hands Bracelet is made of .925 sterling silver with two hand cut rough textured purple amethyst stones. Outside of the bracelet has “Bali” in traditional Balinese script on one side and “Pulau Dewata” meaning “Island of Gods” inscribed on the other. The inside of the bracelet is inscribed with the words “Abracadabra” and “Magic Is Real”. As the stones are hand cut, shapes and colors do vary and no two bracelets are the same.

The Belief In

Khodam

In Indonesia there is a belief in mystical powers associated with jewelry. The belief that jewelry can posess magical or spiritual energy is deeply rooted in Indonesian folklore and traditional practices. According to local beliefs jewelry can attract or house a “Khodam” which is a supernatural being or spirit. It is believed that this spirit can provide various forms of assistance, protection and good fortune to the owner of the jewelry.
.

Aksara Bali

also known as Balinese script, is the traditional system used to write the Balinese language. While Aksara Bali has a long history and cultural significance, its usage has declined in recent years due to the adoption of the Latin alphabet. Today, the script is primariiy used in religious and ceremonial contexts, inscribed on temples and preserved by the spiritual and intellectual elite.

In attempt to both share and help preserve this beautiful written form, each piece of our jewerly is inscribed with a word or two of it.
